What is an X_T file?

X_T files mostly belong to Parasolid by Siemens. An X_T file is a 3D product part model created with Parasolid solid modeling kernel. The contents of an X_T model include three-dimensional geometry, color information, and metadata, all of which are saved as text. X_T part model format was introduced as a replacement for XMT_TMT files. It is also the text version of an X_B file which contains a binary-encoded 3D part model. Computer-aided design programs such as NX, Inventor, and SolidWorks can use Parasolid to create, save, and transfer CAD data.

How to open X_T files

You need a suitable software like Parasolid to open an X_T file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your X_T file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a X_T file directly in the browser:.
