What is an XST file

XST files mostly belong to Xerox WorkCentre Firmware by Xerox. XST is the file extension used by a query template for the WebSphere Application Server. WebSphere Application Server is a web application server developed by IBM for building and running Java apps and enterprise applications. The XML and SQL query wizard in WebSphere Application Server allows creating an XML document or DTD files from the results of an SQL query. It is also possible to dynamically create XML documents from the SQL query at run time. This requires the creation of a query template, which has the XST extension. A query template contains all the information required to enable the SQLtoXML class to connect to the database and execute the query. Creating a query template is optional. To generate a query template, select the Generate query template file option in the XML from SQL wizard window and enter a name for the template. XST is an XML format file and can be opened in any text editor.

How to open XST files

You need a suitable software like Xerox WorkCentre Firmware to open an XST file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your XST file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a XST file directly in the browser:.
