How to open ZONE files

You need a suitable software like Text Editor to open a ZONE file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you open these files in a text editor, you can view and read the content yourself. The files are often between 200 bytes and 200 bytes in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as @ 3600 IN A 216.239.32.21, @ 3600 IN A 216.239.34.21, @ 3600 IN A 216.239.36.21, googlehosted and www 3600 IN CNAME ghs.google.com.
