What is a BPF file?

BPF files mostly belong to F-Secure TOTAL by F-Secure. A PBF file is an XML-encoded presentation project created with BrightAuthor presentation authoring and publication software. It contains information such as project name, author, text, and vector images. Another type of PBF file contains cash compass table formatting used by Live Plan (previously Business Plan). PBF is also the filename extension of a file containing administrative settings and restrictions for F-Secure programs like F-TOTAL. A profile used by BatchPhoto image manipulation software is saved in a PBF file. Quick Terrain Modeler uses a BPF file to save 3D point clouds in Binary Point File format.

How can I open a BPF file?

You need a suitable software like F-Secure TOTAL to open a BPF file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your BPF file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a BPF file directly in the browser:. Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening.
