What is a BREP file?

BREP files mostly belong to FreeCAD. BREP files are used in 3D CAD systems to store model geometry using a method called boundary representation.
These files hold information about the surfaces, curves, and vertices that form the outer boundaries of a solid object. They do not store a simple image but a set of mathematical and topological data needed to define a 3D model precisely.

How to open a BREP file

You need a suitable software like FreeCAD to open a BREP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your BREP file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a BREP file directly in the browser:.
