What is a BRP file?

BRP files mostly belong to BombSquad. BRP files are data files used by different applications that record specific content. They are not a single standard but vary by the software that creates them.
For example, in the gaming field these files often store game replays or save states. Some applications use BRP files as

BRP file extension format:

If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our analysis of the BRP files produces the following result:

BRP is not that commonly used as a file extension. This file type includes different formats for different programs. The following file formats are most commonly found in BRP files:

• 25% of all BRP files are associated with Open Cascade Technology 3D model. These files contain text and words, not binary data. The files are 4 KB to 360 KB in size, with a median of 35 KB. The file type was developed only in the last few years. The files contain the following words: CASCADE Topology V1, (c) Matra-Datavision, 1.0000000000 and Locations 1. Examples of file names are PartShape.brp or Body.Shape.brp. These files can be linked to shape.
• 20% of all BRP files use the same file format, which have the signature 25 47 01 00. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. The files are on average 7 MB in size and range from 310 KB to 29 MB. A usual file name is __lastReplay.brp. Such files are related to last and replay.
