What is a BSK file?

BSK files mostly belong to Bryce by DAZ Productions. The BSK filename extension is primarily used to store data for rendering 3D graphical representations of skies, stars, the Sun, as well as night time and daytime 3D graphics created with Bryce, a software for creating 3D landscapes on Windows and Mac. Another use of the BSK filename extension is with Nero which is used for signing and burning compact discs. A BSK file that's created by Nero's SecurDisc technology is a private key file that allows users to digitally sign compact discs in order to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data in the disc. The data contained in a BSK (SecurDisc key) file is generated by moving the mouse in random directions. Recipients of the compact disc can use the appropriate public key having a BPK filename extension to authenticate the data contained in the disc.

How to open BSK files

You need a suitable software like Bryce to open a BSK file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your BSK file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a BSK file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

  2. SecurDisc (private key) by Nero
SecurDisc is a software developed by Nero which uses 256 bit-encryption to generate private keys for signing compact discs.
