How to open a C3 file

• 80% of all C3 files are associated with 3D model. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. The file size is in the range of 2 KB to 130 KB. This file type was primarily in use more than 10 years ago. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. MAXFILE C3 00001PHY4. A common filename is 20180601.C3 or 100.C3.
• 6% of all C3 files start with the magic bytes BINARY-V1 |PC X86 INTEL|ASCII-META-EDITOR-FILExx, which are always the first bytes of this file format. They consist of unreadable binary data. The average file size is 47 KB with most files being between 25 KB and 65 KB in size. The keywords 0000.002, 0000.016, 0000.031, BINARY-V1 !PC X86 INTEL!ASCII-META-EDITOR-FILExx, Brian, ComnetIII, EndVersion, STKLink, SimFlow, SimLib and xxMetaEditor are typical for these files.
