What is a CFE file?

CFE files mostly belong to Apache Lucene.

CFE files serve different internal purposes. The main use is as an Lucene compound file that acts as a container for search index data used by Apache Lucene.

How to open CFE files

You need a suitable software like Apache Lucene to open a CFE file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly.
