15% of all COPY0 files start with the magic bytes regf, which are always the first bytes of this file format. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. COPY0 files can be up to 1 MB in size, but are often around 32 KB - 780 KB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as OfRg, regf, \SystemRoot\System32\Config\SAM, rmtm and ntuser. The file name NTUSER.DAT.copy0 or SAM.copy0 is characteristic of these files.
