What is a CPJ file?

CPJ files mostly belong to EPLAN Electric P8. CPJ files are specialized project files that store design data in a proprietary format.

How to open a CPJ file

Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. An CPJ file includes various formats for various programs. However, the following two file formats are common:

• 65% of all CPJ files are based on the popular JetDB file format. The JetDB is a database format often used by Microsoft Access and Visual Basic programs. JET is short for Joint Engine Technology. These files are not plain text files, so they also contain binary data. The files are often between 2 KB and 77 KB in size. The keywords Char, Float, Int64, Short, StreamInfo, String, Type and TypeList are typical for these files. The file name DOUGLAS_MINIFIG.CPJ or SILVER_MINIFIG.CPJ is typical for these files. Files like these are about minifig, atlas, silver, bigfig and lotr.
