DDC file format details:
To find out what program is needed to open DDC files, you need to determine the file format. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our evaluation of the DDC files is as follows:
The DDC file extension is not widely used. Such a file covers different formats for different programs. But the following two file formats are common:
- 25% of all DDC files use the same file format, which have the signature 07 44 44 43 20 31 2E. The content consists of binary data as well as text and words. The average file size is 1 KB with most files being between 1 KB and 2 KB in size. This file type is new and state-of-the-art. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. DDC 1, uncdocroot and path. decos20180601.ddc is a typical file name.
- 15% of all DDC files start with the magic bytes 03 17 10 63 00 40 FF 03, which are always the first bytes of this file format. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The files are on average 32 KB in size and range from 16 KB to 3 MB. Such DDC files store data about netlist and proj.
The remaining 60% of all DDC files are files with no common format, the following 7 formats exist: JetDB, XML and Scene. These files sometimes refer to data or autosave. Just click the "Choose your .ddc file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your DDC file is.

How to solve problems with DDC files
- Associate the DDC file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open data file containers. Because only the current version supports the latest DDC file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available Decos Document Control update.
- To make sure that your DDC file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
