What is a DSE file?

DSE files mostly belong to DAZ Studio by DAZ. DSE is the file extension for encrypted scripts created using DAZ Studio, a free software application for creating highly detailed 3D graphics, characters, virtual worlds, scenes, and landscapes. A DAZ Studio script is used to specify the materials, morphs and textures for 3D characters and models. While unencrypted DAZ Studio scripts have a DS or DSA filename extension, encrypted scripts have DSE file extension. The encrypted DSE file protects the intellectual property of 3D graphics designers or developers who put their works up for sale. The DSE file extension is also associated with WhatsUp Gold software which uses the DSE file extension to store virtual device data.

How to open a DSE file

You need a suitable software like DAZ Studio to open a DSE file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
