Opening DXP Files
The DXP file type is primarily associated with Spotfire.
What is a DXP file?
How to open DXP files
You need a suitable software like Spotfire to open a DXP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your DXP file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a DXP file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

DXP format details:
To view or edit DXP files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Below is our analysis of the DXP files:
The DXP file extension is mainly used by one program with a specific format. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 85% of all DXP files use the ZIP format, multiple files are compressed and combined into one DXP file. 1 to 60 compressed files with names like AnalysisDocument.xml, EmbeddedResources.xml, Metadata.xml, Preview.png and Preview.txt are common. You can see the included files and images by renaming the file extension to .zip and then double-clicking it. The files are on average 1 MB in size and range from 35 KB to 15 MB. The following keywords are characteristic: AnalysisDocument.xml, ditamap, images/PK and topics/PK. These files are attributed to report, data, analysis, spotfire, network, dashboard, glass, elasticran, overview, canvas, cell, form and view.
- 6% of all DXP files belong to CDBurnerXP Data compilation. The files are using the common file format XML. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. The content consists of readable text data, which can be read using a text editor. The files are 860 bytes to 310 KB in size, with a median of 3 KB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. <!DOCTYPE layout PUBLIC "http://www.cdburnerxp.se/help/data.dtd" "">, <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?> and <?xml-stylesheet type='text/xsl' href='http://www.cdburnerxp.se/help/c. Such DXP files store data about person-related data.
All other DXP files (9%) have no uniform format, often, for example, Duxbury Braille Translator format and DEX. These files sometimes refer to troubleshooting, consumption, performance, predictive, mydesign, template, merival, summary, annual, client, update, guide, demo or orig. Just click the "Choose your .dxp file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your DXP file is.

How to solve problems with DXP files
- Associate the DXP file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open data analysis. Because only the current version supports the latest DXP file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the TIBCO manufacturer website after an available Spotfire update.
- To make sure that your DXP file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .DXP file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
