What is an EF file?

EF files mostly belong to Diploma by Blackboard. EF stands for Exam File. EF file type is associated with Diploma software developed by Wimba.

• Main Use: Wimba Diploma is a question authoring and management application used for creating or editing questions, preparing exam questions papers, creating quizzes with a "drag-and-drop" feature, publishing quizzes in online courses, preparing paper-based assignments based on content-specific requirements. Wimba Diploma software uses EF files to save customized questions, instructions, answers, chapters, editing marks, and test layout information.
• Adoption: Wimba Diploma, the program that opens EF files, can be installed on Windows and macOS operating systems. To create an EF file, open the Wimba Diploma application and navigate to File→ New Exam and enter the questionnaire. Then, navigate to File → Save or select the Save icon, enter a filename, select the save location, and click on Save.

How to open an EF file

You need a suitable software like Diploma from Blackboard to open an EF file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your EF file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a EF file directly in the browser:. Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. • 50% of all EF files use the same file format, which have the signature BRGEXM6v00010000. These files are not pure binary files and are therefore readable and interpretable with a text editor. The file name R805FXXU1FTC1_Tizen_4File_Multi CSC (OXX).EF is characteristic of these files. Such files are related to firmware, emui, general, bypass, downgrade and software.

All other EF files (35%) have no uniform format, the following 6 formats exist: ZIP, PonEF and pmf. These files sometimes refer to tizen, combination, board, fxxu, questions or user.
