What is an ELX file

ELX files mostly belong to iProjectNet. ELX Files have two distinct uses depending on their origin.

iProject Electrical Project file: This type is used by iProjectNet to store electrical design data. It may include wiring layouts, panel details, and other project specifications. Opening these files requires the dedicated iProjectNet application.

Firmware update package: Some ELX files are compressed using the ZIP format. They serve as firmware updates for Electrolux products. You can open these with any standard archive tool such as 7-Zip or WinZip. For more detailed information on the ZIP standard, refer to PKWARE.

How to open ELX files

You need a suitable software like iProjectNet to open an ELX file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. How to extract texts from ELX files or capture a screenshot to PDF, JPG, DOCX, TXT, ...

The file name Progetto.elx is characteristic of these files. Files like these are sometimes connected to quadri, elettrici, impianto, schema, unifilare and quadro.
• 25% of all ELX files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "11" at the beginning. These files are plain text, which means they can be viewed with any text editor such as Windows Editor, Nano for Linux, and TextEdit for macOS. A typical file size is 16 KB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as 84-200 Wejherowo, D PRACY W WEJHEROWIE!!Us, POWIATOWY URZ, ugowa 11!84-200, 12405383 and 81124053831111001057026669. 20180601_m_stolc.elx or 20180601_werslo1554.elx is a typical file name. Such files sometimes refer to stolc, werslo and skorowska.
