What is an EPP file?

EPP files mostly belong to Easy-PhotoPrint EX by Canon. Files with EPP filename extension are usually raster images stored in the proprietary file format used by Easy-PhotoPrint EX, a photo editing software developed by Canon. In addition to the standard image data stored in an EPP file, the file may also contain editing information such as red eye correction and brightness. Elmedia, a multimedia player for Mac operating system stores playlists in EPP files. The playlist itself is a list of tracks stored in a manner that allows Elmedia to play select tracks in succession. Projects created with EditPad (a word processor) are also stored in EPP files. Embedded template files used in Puppet and Python programming also have EPP files.

How can I open an EPP file?

You need a suitable software like Easy-PhotoPrint EX to open an EPP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. However, different programs can use the same file extension. EPP is not a commonly used file extension and includes various formats for various programs. However, the following two file formats are common:

45% of all EPP files start with the magic bytes [INFO], which are always the first bytes of this file format. These files contain text and words, not binary data. The average file size is 12 KB with most files being between 570 bytes and 210 KB in size. The file type is a fairly new file format. The following keywords are characteristic: [INFO], Subiekt GT and wny","Magazyn g. The following filename is common: produkty_epp_99_01-06-2020 10_30_pl.epp. Such EPP files store data about przyklad, subiekt, import, produkty, towarow, faktury and plik.
25% of all EPP files use the same file format, which have the signature .EPP. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. EPP files are between 46 KB and 1 MB in size. The keywords .EPP and Exif are typical for these files.
