All about ESK Files
The ESK file type is primarily associated with eSobi.
What is an ESK file?
How can I open an ESK file?
You need a suitable software like eSobi to open an ESK file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your ESK file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a ESK file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert ESK files:
- eSobi
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. ESK files are often referred to as eSobi data files because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- ESK Document Reader
- Longplay Vesa file
ESK file format:
Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our examination of the ESK files comes to the following conclusion:
ESK is rarely used as a file extension and covers different formats for different programs. But the following two file formats are common:
- 40% of all ESK files use the same file format, which have the signature 00 00 00 00. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. ESK files are between 10 KB and 60 KB in size. The file type is relatively new. An example of a file name is devB_1_20180601_1.ESK or devB_001_20180601_1.ESK.
- 15% of all ESK files use the popular GZIP file format. Gzip is a compressed archive file format. Gzip (GNU zip) is only capable of compressing a single file. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. A typical file size is 2 KB. The file name Zuschuss_2020-06-01.esk is characteristic of these files.
All other ESK files (45%) have different formats, frequently e.g. ZIP and ESK. Files like these are sometimes linked to customers. You can get all the details of your ESK file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .esk file to analyze" above.
Technical Data for ESK File Extension
The following listing is compiled from the database produced by the 'Associate This!' program, selected data from the main FILExt database and file extension information submitted by users.
EXEFile: %ProgramFiles%\eSignal\WinSig.Exe
an esk data file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with ESK files
- Associate the ESK file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open data files. Because only the current version supports the latest ESK file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available eSobi update.
- To make sure that your ESK file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .ESK file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
