FACE format details:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. Nonetheless, different programs can utilize the same file extension to represent distinct file formats. Double-clicking on the file often results in an error when opening. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Below is our analysis of the FACE files:
FACE is not a commonly used file extension and is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. But the following two file formats are common:
- 25% of all FACE files start with the bytes 03 01 63 61 66 2E 01 00 crucial for this file format. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. The files are often between 590 bytes and 260 KB in size. The file type was developed only in the last few years. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. caf, Suit and Three Piece. The file name true true.face is typical for these files. Such FACE files store data about person-related data.
- 20% of all FACE files start with the bytes Z¥4, which are crucial for this file format. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. Most of these files are 130 KB to 3 MB in size. The files contain the following words: 167210065. The following filename is common: Bluedigo.face. Such files sometimes refer to watch.
All other FACE files (55%) have different formats, often, for example, Facer watch Face, plist, XML, caf and FaceFile. They are often associated with client, scene, android, attack, session, webcam or video. If you want to find out which format your FACE file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .face file to view this image".
