What is an FCP file?

FCP files mostly belong to Final Cut Pro by Apple. FCP is the filename extension of video editing project files created with versions of Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Express video authoring software before the release of Final Cut Pro X. An FCP file contains audio, videos, clips in/out points, visual effects, chapters, automation data etc. all of which are saved into a single binary container file. An FCP project file may be exported as MOV, MPG, or DVD videos after editing. FCP filename extension is also associated with projects created with FontCreator, a Windows-based font editor. FontCreator FCP files contain font data such as kerning information glyphs, as well as vector/raster graphics. How to open an FCP file

You need a suitable software like Final Cut Pro to open an FCP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
