What is an FDP file

FDP files mostly belong to FMOD Studio. FDP files are project or data files used by different applications to store structured information.
If you have an FDP file, it might be one of several types, such as:

FMOD Designer Project: An XML-based file from FMOD Studio that holds audio events, settings, and sound bank details for game and audio projects.

Food Defense Plan: An XML file created by a Food Defense Plan Builder to record and manage safety measures in food production.

How to open an FDP file

You need a suitable software like FMOD Studio to open an FDP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your FDP file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a FDP file directly in the browser:. FDP file format details:

Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. In the following you will find our evaluation of the FDP files:

FDP is not a commonly used file extension and covers different formats for different programs. The two most common formats are as follows:

• 25% of all FDP files belong to FMOD Designer Project. The files are using the common file format XML. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. The content consists of readable text data, which can be read using a text editor. The average file size is 600 KB with most files being between 27 KB and 7 MB in size. This file type is based on cutting-edge technology. The files contain the following words: <eventgroup_nextid>0</eventgroup_nextid>, <project>, <version>4</version>, guid, name, soundbank_nextid, sounddef and <soundde. The file name Interface.fdp or Weapons.fdp is characteristic of these files. These files can be linked to music and creatures.
• 15% of all FDP files store the data in the XML file format. These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. FDP files can be up to 310 KB in size, but are often around 5 KB - 230 KB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. <?xml version="1.0"?>, <company>, <PlanXML xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">, <schemaVersion>2.0</schemaVersion> and <facilityNam. The file name Food Defense plan.fdp is characteristic of these files.
