What is an FXT file?

FXT files mostly belong to FaceFX by OC3. FXT files can be found as actor templates containing data that's commonly used for character rigging in FaceFX, a Windows-based software for creating animated facial expressions for 3D models. Contents of FaceFX actor templates (FXT) files can include color maps, actor face graphs, and many other basic features that are applicable to most 3D actor characters in the animation. The FXT file format is also associated with fake text message files for video games. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas uses plain text FXT files to store text messages or pager messages that in-game characters receive during gameplay. In addition to these, Finale, a music composition software for Windows uses plugins that have the FXT format.

How to open FXT files

You need a suitable software like FaceFX to open an FXT file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your FXT file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a FXT file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our evaluation of the FXT files is as follows:
