What is an HSP file

HSP files mostly belong to Hot Soup Processor. The HSP extension does not point to a single file type. Instead, its content is defined by the software that created it. The most common instance is the Hot Soup Processor script, a file that holds code used in that scripting engine, sometimes stored with a structure similar to a TIFF file.

Hot Soup Processor Script: Contains command and function definitions. These text-based scripts run in the Hot Soup Processor interpreter.

How to open an HSP file

You need a suitable software like Hot Soup Processor to open an HSP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. • 25% of all HSP files save the data in TIFF file format. TIFF is short for Tagged Image File Format. The remaining 65% of all HSP files are different files with different signatures, frequently e.g. ZIP, pod, SimulationCase, HSP and PSH. Often described as snapshot, tool or actions.
