Opening an IMN File
The IMN file type is primarily associated with CORE Simulator.
What is an IMN file?
IncrediMail Notification Files:
Some IMN files serve as notification or stationery files in IncrediMail. They hold instructions and design elements for email alerts and styled message templates. For additional information, visit the IncrediMail webpage.
How to open an IMN file
You need a suitable software like CORE Simulator to open an IMN file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your IMN file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a IMN file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

IMN file format details:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. Below you will find our evaluation of the IMN files:
IMN is not a commonly used file extension and predominantly uses a uniform format. But the following two file formats are common:
- 80% of all IMN files start with the magic bytes node n, which are always the first bytes of this file format. These files contain text and words, not binary data. A typical file size is 17 KB. The file type was developed only in the last few years. The files contain the following words: network-config {, address, type router, node n1 {, interface eth2, hostname R1, model static, interface eth3, interface eth1 and interface eth0. Such IMN files store data about assignment, topologia, topo, core, simulation, routing, switch, wuolah, setup, free, ospf and task.
- 8% of all IMN files are IncrediMail Notifier files, which are using the popular CAP file format. CAP files are compressed archives. The first bytes (the signature) are 'MSCF' (short for MicroSoft Cabinet File). They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. Most of these files are 3 KB to 250 KB in size. The files contain the following words: MSCF, content.ini and thumb. Files like these are about butler and light.
The remaining 12% of all IMN files are different files with different signatures. Tagged as simple. If you want to find out what your IMN file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.

an imn data file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with IMN files
- Associate the IMN file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open data files. Because only the current version supports the latest IMN file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available CORE Simulator update.
- To make sure that your IMN file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .IMN file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
