Opening a JET File
The JET file type is primarily associated with Access.
What is a JET file?
How do you open JET files?
You need a suitable software like Access to open a JET file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your JET file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a JET file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

JET file format:
The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our evaluation of the JET files looks like this:
JET is one of the most common file extensions and is used by different programs with different formats. But the following two file formats are common:
- 40% of all JET files are based on the zip format, so several files are compressed and saved in one JET file. Most often they are 13 to 140 compressed files. Customary file names are manifest.txt, \Assets\, \game_data\, \game_data\game_project\, \game_data\game_project\asset_db\asset_table.csv, \game_data\game_project\asset_db\asset_variants_table.csv, \game_data\game_project\asset_db\default_texture_table.csv, \game_data\game_project\asset_db\effekseer_model_table.csv and \game_data\game_project\assets\. Tip: If you rename the file ending to .zip and then double-click it, you see the included files and images. A typical file size is 2 MB. The following keywords are characteristic: Assets/JSON/PK, game and Assets/JSON/achievements.json. A common filename is data.jet or BTD5.jet. Files like these are sometimes connected to tower, store, bloons, bravura, hero, player, core and ingame.
- 25% of all JET files are using the well-known JSON file format to store the data. JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a lightweight data−interchange format. It is easy for humans to read and write. It is easy for machines to parse and generate. The content consists of readable text data, which can be read using a text editor. The average file size is 14 KB with most files being between 290 bytes and 88 KB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. false, content, fields and episodeid. A usual file name is data.jet or TDQuestion.jet. These files are often associated with prompt, round, standard, battle, question, quiplash, drawing, button, tests and push.
All the rest of the JET files (35%) have different formats, frequently e.g. SQL, JetDB, GZIP and JET. Often described as pdict, config, ridictionary, champions, single, music, words or world. You can get all the details of your JET file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .jet file to analyze" above.
Technical Data for JET File Extension
a jet database is a special file format by Microsoft and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with JET files
- Associate the JET file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open databases. Because only the current version supports the latest JET file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the Microsoft manufacturer website after an available Access update.
- To make sure that your JET file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .JET file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
