What is a JET file?

JET files mostly belong to Access by Microsoft. A JET file is a database saved in Microsoft's Standard Jet Database engine format. A JET database file consists of information organized into tables (rows and columns). It also contains database objects (views, indexes, schema). Another type of JET file contains data stored by EAMS workers' compensation case management software. JET is also the filename extension of a Java Emitter Template which is used to generate boilerplate source code for a Java project. Bloons Tower Defense video game uses a ZIP-compressed JET file to store game data.

How do you open JET files?

You need a suitable software like Access to open a JET file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your JET file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a JET file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

JET file format:

The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our evaluation of the JET files looks like this:

JET is one of the most common file extensions and is used by different programs with different formats. But the following two file formats are common:

All the rest of the JET files (35%) have different formats, frequently e.g. SQL, JetDB, GZIP and JET. Often described as pdict, config, ridictionary, champions, single, music, words or world.
