JGW format details:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Our evaluation of the JGW files looks like this:
You will often come across the JGW file type. This mainly uses a special format. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 70% of all JGW files start with the bytes 30 2E, which are crucial for this file format. The contents of these files are easily readable with a text editor. The average file size is 82 bytes with most files being between 53 bytes and 120 bytes in size. The file type is relatively new. Files like these are about epsg, date, plan, ortho, site, printout, navarra and idena.
- 6% of all JGW files have the same signature 31 2E. These files contain text and words, not binary data. JGW files are between 53 bytes and 90 bytes in size.
All other JGW files (24%) have no uniform format. The category is ortofoto, mapa, export, orto, overall, detail or tile. If you want to find out which format your JGW file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .jgw file to view".
