What is an LMX file

LMX files mostly belong to Autodesk Netfabb. Your LMX file may be one of two types of files.

3D Printer File: This type stores data used in 3D printing processes. It contains model information that specialized software such as Autodesk Netfabb can read, process, and prepare for printing.

How to open an LMX file

You need a suitable software like Autodesk Netfabb to open an LMX file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. LMX file extension format:

A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. • 10% of all LMX files start with the bytes 80 A7 D2 F2 A2 AA 41 A7 76 A8 0F 4B 55 83 6C 22, which are crucial for this file format. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. The files are 16 KB to 630 KB in size, with a median of 380 KB. An example of a file name is 00000001.LMX.
