What is a LO file?

LO files mostly belong to GNU Libtool by GNU Project. A LO file is a library object which GNU Libtool uses to determine what standard object (O) files to build into a shared object library (SO). The contents of an LO file are saved as human readable text. GNU Libtool is a support script that provides a consistent, portable interface for accessing shared libraries. LO is also the filename extension of a chart template used by ATAS advanced trading analytical software. A discontinued edition QuickSilver also used compiled Lisp code saved in an LO file. This has been replaced by FAS filename extension.

How to open a LO file

You need a suitable software like GNU Libtool to open a LO file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. 10% of all LO files store the data in the JSON file format. JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a lightweight data−interchange format. It is easy for humans to read and write. It is easy for machines to parse and generate. The contents of these files can even be read by a human. LO files are between 10 KB and 33 KB in size. The following keywords are characteristic: false, Canvas, Elements, ChartTraderIsEnabled, ChartType, ChartWindowState, CumulativeTradesFilter, CustomMinutesInterval, DaysToLoad, DeltaPeriod and DrawingObjectses. These files can be linked to snapshot and levels.
