What is an M4P file?

M4P files mostly belong to iTunes. The M4P file is a protected audio file that uses an MP4 container to store AAC-encoded sound with built-in digital rights management (DRM).

How to open an M4P file

You need a suitable software like iTunes to open an M4P file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
