MCX files mostly belong to Mastercam by CNC Software. An MCX file is a 3D model of a fixture, mechanical part/assembly, or a mold created with Mastercam computer-aided manufacturing software. The file contains CNC surfaces, wireframes, and molds specifying how a 3D model should be displayed or printed. Apart from Mastercam, computer-aided manufacturing programs such as CATIA can open and edit an MCX model. Another type of MCX file contains recipe pictures used by MasterCook digital cookbook software.

How to open MCX files

You need a suitable software like Mastercam to open an MCX file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
