MOO file extension format:
Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. Our examination of the MOO files comes to the following conclusion:
MOO is not a common file extension and is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. But the following two file formats are common:
- 55% of all MOO files internally utilize the XML file format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. These files are plain text, which means they can be viewed with any text editor such as Windows Editor, Nano for Linux, and TextEdit for macOS. Most of these files are 54 KB to 180 KB in size. The file type is relatively new. The keywords <?PowerDesigner AppLocale="UTF16", <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>, Label, Name, LastModificationDate and Objects are typical for these files. Such files sometimes refer to diagramme, utilisation, classes, classe, finition, modele, case, gestion, globale and diag.
- 20% of all MOO files save the data in Ogg file format. The Ogg format is an audio file format similar to MP3, but unrestricted by software patents. They consist of unreadable binary data. MOO files are between 230 KB and 6 MB in size. The following keywords are characteristic: OggS, vorbis, Xiph.Org libVorbis I 20120203 (Omnipresent), vorbis+, TITLE and TRACKNUMBER. Files like these have the following tags: boss, oleander, canyon, temple, cave and pred.
The remaining 25% of all MOO files are files with no common format, often, for example, Timestamp. Sometimes used for timestamp, textures or vinyls. Just click the "Choose your .moo file to view" button on this page to find out what your MOO file is.
