MOR file extension format:
A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. Our examination of the MOR files comes to the following conclusion:
The MOR file extension is not widely used. Such a file includes various formats for various programs. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 35% of all MOR files internally utilize the UTF-8 file format. UTF-8 is the World Wide Web's most common character encoding for Unicode. UTF-8 files can be viewed with any text editor. These files start with the 3 bytes (hex: EF BB BF), the so called byte order mark (BOM). These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. The files are 20 KB to 21 KB in size, with a median of 21 KB. This file type is new and state-of-the-art. The following filename is common: 20180601.MOR.
- 15% of all MOR files use the same file format, which have the signature GFF V4.0PC MORPV0.1. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. A typical file size is 53 KB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. GFF V4.0PC MORPV0.1, fprm, morp, node, tprm and vprm. hf_genfl_leliana.mor or hf_genfl_morrigan.mor is a typical file name. Such files sometimes refer to genfl, leliana, morrigan and video.
All the rest of the MOR files (50%) have different formats, often e.g. MPQ and ftypisom. Sometimes used for data, skeleton, thpatch or thdata. Just click the "Choose your .mor file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your MOR file is.
