What is an MRC file?

MRC files mostly belong to MarcEdit by MarcEdit Development. An MRC file is a script used by mIRC Internet relay chat client software. This file is created by mIRC's Scripts Editor component and used to automate operations such as spam blocking. Another type of MRC file contains machine-readable bibliography saved according to standards defined by MARC formats. Such bibliography data can be created, viewed, and edited with MarcEdit. MRC is also the filename extension of a 2D or 3D electron microscopy or tomography image. Medical image viewers like ImageJ support MRC image format. Some Android phones manufactured by Xiaomi use user interface patches saved in MRC files.

How can I open an MRC file?

You need a suitable software like MarcEdit to open an MRC file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
