What is an MTD file

MTD files mostly belong to Musicnotes Player by Musicnotes. An MTD file contains sheet music for voice, piano, and guitar instruments. This sheet music format is mainly used by Musicnotes Player and Musicnotes Viewer. A piece of sheet music saved in an MTD file can contain lyrics saved alongside staves with note symbols, time/key signatures, and song title. This file can also contain information about the song's author. Another type of MTD file contains information that a solver needs in order to drive a machine tool for a product manufacturing project created with PowerMill software.

How to open an MTD file

You need a suitable software like Musicnotes Player to open an MTD file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as AppVersion, "MetaVersion": 10, "MetaVersion": 10, AccountName and SyncMode. The file name metadata.mtd is typical for these files.
