NCR file format:
A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. In the following you will find our evaluation of the NCR files:
NCR is not a common file extension and includes different formats for different programs. But the following two file formats are common:
- 30% of all NCR files are using the well-known XML file format to store the data. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. These files contain text and words, not binary data. Most of these files are 8 KB to 56 KB in size. The file type is relatively new. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>, <encoding>UTF-8</encoding>, <options>, <NCReport version="2.19.1", name="Untitled" type="report">, <language>00</language> and <langrole. A common filename is DailyReport.ncr or AttendanceDetailInfo.ncr. These files are attributed to performance, flexible, absence, monthly, inlast, first and card.
- 25% of all NCR files start with the magic bytes 00 00 01 00, which are always the first bytes of this file format. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. A typical file size is 3 MB.
All the rest of the NCR files (45%) have different formats, often e.g. UTF-8. Tagged as nitroclash or replay. You can get all the details of your NCR file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .ncr file to view this image" above.
