What is an NCT file?

NCT files mostly belong to JetDB, COVER EDITOR. Your NCT file can serve in two distinct ways. It may be a building simulation data file that uses the JetDB format. In this case, the file holds building information for simulation programs, sometimes known as a DesignBuilder Simulation Data file. It can also be a Nero cover template file from the COVER EDITOR range. In the latter use, the file often employs an XML structure to store layout and design details.
Key uses include:

Building Simulation – Contains structured data for simulation setups and design parameters.

How to open and view them:

Use the native application that created the file (DesignBuilder or COVER EDITOR).

If the file is in XML format, a text editor can display its contents.

How to open NCT files

You need a suitable software like JetDB, COVER EDITOR to open an NCT file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your NCT file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a NCT file directly in the browser:. How to convert NCT files to JPG, PDF, HTML, DOC, ...

To view or edit NCT files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our examination of the NCT files comes to the following conclusion:

The NCT file extension is rather rarely used and is used by different programs with different formats. The following file formats are most commonly found in NCT files:

• 30% of all NCT files store the data in the JetDB file format. The JetDB is a database format often used by Microsoft Access and Visual Basic programs. JET is short for Joint Engine Technology. They consist of unreadable binary data. The file size is in the range of 1 MB to 2 MB. The file type was developed only in the last few years. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. Standard Jet DB. Files like these have the following tags: building, body, approval, complete, case and road.
• 20% of all NCT files belong to Ahead Nero CoverDesigner Template. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. The files are 3 KB to 8 MB in size, with a median of 510 KB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. COVER EDITOR, IHDR and IDATx. Such files are related to cover.

All other NCT files (50%) have different formats, the following 6 formats can be found: Now Contact contacts list, XML and Created.
