What is a P21 file?

P21 files mostly belong to JSDAI by LKSoft. The P21 file extension is mainly associated with STEP-file, a format that is used to save 3D models and for product data representation/exchange in the industrial automation sector. Such P21 files are Express STEP Data Models and their raw contents are 3D models represented as ISO 10303-21 standard ASCII text defining the physical properties of 3D models. The data in a P21 3D model consists of various sections including a header, file description, schema, data etc. QuickPar, a tool for performing data verification and recovery on Windows operating systems stores PAR recovery volume part 21 in P21 files.

How to open P21 files

You need a suitable software like JSDAI to open a P21 file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your P21 file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a P21 file directly in the browser:. Files with the P21 extension are quite widely used. This file type mainly uses a defined P21 format. But the following two file formats are common:

• 4% of all P21 files start with the bytes 06 00 CD 3A 3F 3D, which are crucial for this file format. These files are not plain text files, so they also contain binary data. The files are often between 100 KB and 150 KB in size. These files are attributed to person-related data.
