All about PLB Files
The PLB file type is primarily associated with Oracle Database.
What is a PLB file?
Other applications use the same extension for specific tasks, such as:
How do you open PLB files?
You need a suitable software like Oracle Database to open a PLB file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your PLB file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a PLB file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

PLB file format:
To find out what program is needed to open PLB files, you need to determine the file format. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Our examination of the PLB files comes to the following conclusion:
The PLB file ending covers a large number of different file formats. The file formats most commonly found in PLB files are:
- 15% of all PLB files have the same signature CREATE . These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. PLB files can be up to 120 KB in size, but are often around 880 bytes - 25 KB. The file type was developed only in the last few years. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. CREATE, abcd, wrapped, a000000 and REPLACE PACKAGE. Such files are related to user.
- 10% of all PLB files belong to PhotoLine browse index. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. Most of these files are 2 KB to 77 KB in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as Photo Line Browsefile, JFIF, "!&+7/&)4)!" and logo.png. A usual file name is Browse.plb.
The remaining 75% of all PLB files are different files with different signatures, often, for example, Rockwell Arena Picture Library, EXE, create and STISIM. Sometimes used for process or basic. Drag & drop your file here to see the file format and a preview of your PLB file!

a plb binary data container is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with PLB files
- Associate the PLB file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open binary data containers. Because only the current version supports the latest PLB file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available Oracle Database update.
- To make sure that your PLB file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .PLB file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
