PM file format details:
To view or edit PM files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Below is our analysis of the PM files:
The PM file ending includes very many different file formats. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 15% of all PM files are based on the well-known Source file format. A source code is the set of instructions written by a programmer using a computer programming language like JavaScript, C++ or Basic. This code is translated into machine language by a compiler. The translated result is called app, program or executable. The contents of these files can even be read by a human. Most of these files are 1 KB to 33 KB in size. The files contain the following words: package, use strict;, VERSION, base and Data.
- 9% of all PM files have the same signature ##############################################. If you open these files in a text editor, you can view and read the content yourself. The files are on average 6 KB in size and range from 1 KB to 120 KB. The following keywords are characteristic: ############, BigFixPM, bhobbs, trunk, OpenKore, This software, This software is open source, licensed under and open source.
All other PM files (76%) have different formats, the following 8 formats exist: PDF, ZIP and line. Files like these are sometimes linked to statement, customer or assignment. If you want to find out which format your PM file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .pm file to view this image".
