PRO format details:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. Nonetheless, different programs can utilize the same file extension to represent distinct file formats. Double-clicking on the file often results in an error when opening. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. In the following you will find our evaluation of the PRO files:
PRO is a very common file type and covers a large number of different file formats. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 10% of all PRO files start with the bytes 00 00 crucial for this file format. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The files are on average 280 KB in size and range from 17 KB to 3 MB. The file type is old but is used even today. These files can be linked to design, plan, garage, floor and house, and usually contain person-related data.
- 7% of all PRO files are associated with CODESYS Project. They consist of unreadable binary data. The file size is in the range of 17 KB to 750 KB. The keywords CoDeSys+, ConfigExtension, CommConfigEx7 and CommConfigExEnd are typical for these files. An example of a file name is CSVExample.pro. These files are attributed to sample.
All other PRO files (83%) have no uniform format, such as KiCad Project, UTF-8, ZIP, GZIP, cvf and Pro. These files are often connected to config, proguard, settings, songbook, options, profile, program, facdsb, rules, aisc, mime, read or type. Just click the "Choose your .pro file to view" button on this page to find out what your PRO file is.
