What is an SCH file?

SCH files mostly belong to EAGLE by Autodesk. An SCH file is a 2D schematic of an electronic circuit created with electronics design automation/simulation programs. EAGLE, OrCAD PCB Designer, KiCad, Altium Designer, TINA, PCB Artist, Qucs, CIRCAD, ExpressSCH and other electronics design programs save an electronic circuit's schematic in an SCH file. Although the contents of this file are usually written in plain text, some programs encode them as binary data. Information stored in such SCH files include electronics, component symbols, conductors, and part numbers. How can I open an SCH file?

You need a suitable software like EAGLE to open an SCH file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
