What is a PXE file?
PXE files mostly belong to iPXE.
The PXE file is not a single‐purpose file but can serve several distinct functions. It is often used as a Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) file for network boot operations. In other scenarios the same extension appears in different industries.
For example, various use cases include:

How to open PXE files

Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. How to solve problems with PXE files
- Associate the PXE file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open system configuration files. Because only the current version supports the latest PXE file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available iPXE update.
