Programs that open and convert ROBOT files:
- Robot Framework
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. ROBOT files are often referred to as Robot Framework developers because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- Robot Framework*.ROBOT files are plain text files used to define test cases and test suites in the Robot Framework. They utilize a tabular syntax for easy readability and maintainability. These files contain keywords, variables, and settings that structure the test execution flow. They serve as the foundation for automated testing within the Robot Framework ecosystem, enabling users to define and execute tests for various software applications. This file format is classified as Test Automation.
ROBOT file format:
Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our evaluation of the ROBOT files looks like this:
As a file extension, ROBOT isn't very common and mainly uses a defined ROBOT format. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 75% of all ROBOT files have no uniform signature. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. The files are on average 770 KB in size and range from 230 KB to 1 MB. The file type is relatively new. Such files are related to fanuc, kuka, motoman, mate, robotics, hyundai, fairino, yaskawa and dobot.
- 10% of all ROBOT files have the same signature *** . The content consists of readable text data, which can be read using a text editor. ROBOT files are between 250 bytes and 16 KB in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as *** Settings ***, Library, Documentation, Test and Resource.
All other ROBOT files (15%) have no consistent format. Sometimes used for comau. Drag & drop your file here to see the file format and a preview of your ROBOT file!
