RWP files mostly belong to Trimble RealWorks. There are two main uses for RWP files.

How to open RWP files

You need a suitable software like Trimble RealWorks to open an RWP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. The RWP file type is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. However, the following two file formats are common:

• 25% of all RWP files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "HPJ%" at the beginning. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. The files are 4 KB to 130 MB in size, with a median of 4 MB. The file type is relatively new. The keywords HPJ%, Trimble RealWorks and Advanced are typical for these files. The file name Italian House.rwp or livingroom.rwp is characteristic of these files. Such RWP files store data about italian, house, scan, progetto, project and export, and often include person-related information.
• 7% of all RWP files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters " Rail" at the beginning. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. The files are often between 8 MB and 220 MB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. Assets, RailStudio, RailVehicles, Audio and proxybin. These files are attributed to pack and vagoane.
