The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). The files are 23 bytes to 1 MB in size, with a median of 180 KB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as body, listSms, address, name and read.
