SMO file format:

Why is it important to know the file format? This is the only way to find out which program to use to open the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. The remaining 45% of all SMO files are different files with different signatures, often e.g. BIKi. They are often associated with logging, scan, myopel, myopelcan, global, offspring or dmap.
