What is an SPM file?

SPM files mostly belong to Spektrum Radio Transmitter Model Setup by Spektrum. SPM files related to the SPM extension are package files used by two different package managers, Salt Package Manager and Source Package Manager.

• Salt Package Manager: SPM extension is used to create file packages by Salt Package Manager. This is a program that enables packaging Salt formulas and then distributing them to Salt masters. These packages include several pillar, jinja, and state files, compressed to form a formula. SPM files are used for a set of purposes, from configuring new devices to setting up new users. The sources for the software usually come in source RPMs. SPM files used by Source Package Manager can be read using its software and utilities like Super Password Manager and WordPerfect by Corel.

How do you open SPM files?

You need a suitable software like Spektrum Radio Transmitter Model Setup to open an SPM file. Why is it important to know the file format? This is the only way to find out which program to use to open the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. • 20% of all SPM files start with the bytes \*F crucial for this file format. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. Most of these files are 100 KB to 3 MB in size. The file type was developed only in the last few years. The following keywords are characteristic: Date, Version, \Data length: 80960, \User Rating: 0, \History, \Navigator note, \Text, \*File list, \Engage X Pos: -19783.4 um and \Start context: OL2BIG. Files like these have the following tags: sample, force, curve, glass, group, index and scan.
• 20% of all SPM files belong to Spektrum DX serie transmitter settings. The contents of these files can even be read by a human. A typical file size is 21 KB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. <Spektrum>, Name, PosIndex= 5, curveIndex= 7, VCode, Generator, Originator, mmNum, enabXPLUS=Disabled, Type=Acro, modelImage, </Spektrum>, modelNum, Type=Heli and bCode=3. Files like these are sometimes connected to nano, blade, acro, tractor, carbon and aero.

All other SPM files (60%) have no uniform format, the following 11 formats exist: Source, GZIP, ZIP, ZVR, Eltima, SIGMATEK and unk.
