Opening SRD Files
The SRD file type is primarily associated with PowerBuilder.
What is an SRD file?
- Main Use: Sage accounting software is used to manage business accounting operations, handle employee wages and taxes. Sage software uses SRD files to store report data such as customer, vendor, and inventory details. The SRD files can also be printed directly using the Sage software. Sage Report Designer is used for creating SRD files. This tool can be accessed using the Tools option in the main window of Sage software and selecting Run Report Designer.
- Other Uses: SRD files are also associated with the PowerBuilder software developed by Sybase. PowerBuilder application is used for creating applications compatible with Microsoft .NET, and Java platforms. SRD files consist of saved window data belonging to an application.
How to open SRD files
You need a suitable software like PowerBuilder to open an SRD file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your SRD file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a SRD file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert SRD files:
- PowerBuilder by Appeon
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. SRD files are often referred to as PowerBuilder data files because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.

The number 50 indicated that it was aimed at companies with up to 50 employees. It is now an obsolete product without support from Sage. - Smart Reminder (database file) by Smart ReminderSmart Reminder is an older personal organizer software. It was used for keeping track of personal and business contacts, addresses, phone numbers, birthdays, and more. SRD file contained a database. Smart Reminder and its SRD file type are obsolete and no longer supported. This file format is classified as Data.
SRD file format details:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Below is our analysis of the SRD files:
The file type with the extension 'SRD' has no uniform or dominant file format. The two most popular formats are as follows:
- 15% of all SRD files are based on the zip format, that is, an SRD file includes multiple compressed files. An SRD file can contain up to 1 files (mostly 1 - 1). Tip: If you rename the file ending to .zip and then double-click it, you see the included files and images. The file size is in the range of 150 KB to 780 KB. The following keywords are characteristic: dSIA. 101_2020_dSIA.srd is a typical file name. These files are often associated with dsia, fsia and isia.
- 10% of all SRD files store the data in the SQL file format. An SQL file contains a lightweight SQLite database, widely used in application development for storing application related data. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The files are on average 5 MB in size and range from 3 MB to 7 MB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as SQLite format 3. Some examples of file names are StateRepository-Machine.srd or StateRepository-Deployment.srd.
All other SRD files (75%) have different formats, frequently e.g. UTF-16 (LE), PBExportHeader, CFH and release. The category is advertise, nominal or print. Drag & drop your file here to see the file format and a preview of your SRD file!

an srd source definition file is a special file format by Appeon and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with SRD files
- Associate the SRD file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open source definition files. Because only the current version supports the latest SRD file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the Appeon manufacturer website after an available PowerBuilder update.
- To make sure that your SRD file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .SRD file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
