What is an STH file

STH files mostly belong to WebSphere Application Server by IBM. An STH file is a stash containing the password of a keyring KYR file used by applications such as Domino email server and WebSphere Application Server. A keyring is a password-protected collection of private/public keys and certificates which allow the email server to securely communicate with its Notes email client. Domino uses the password in an STH file for unattended access to the keyring (KYR file). Chrome web browser uses a different type of STH file to save data.
