USP files mostly belong to Microsoft Windows. USP files are files used in different applications for storing system or project settings.

How to open USP files

You need a suitable software like Microsoft Windows to open a USP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. USP is rarely used as a file extension and is used by different programs with different formats. The file formats most commonly found in USP files are:

• 50% of all USP files are based on the popular config file format. A configuration file is used by computer software to store settings. It consists of a text-based content with a structure and syntax comprising key–value pairs for properties, and sections that organize the properties. They consist of unreadable binary data. The average file size is 8 KB with most files being between 7 KB and 9 KB in size. The file type is very recent. Examples of file names are 1.usp or 2.usp.
• 15% of all USP files start with the bytes 01 00 00 00 crucial for this file format. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. USP files can be up to 47 MB in size, but are often around 330 KB - 18 MB. The keywords Block   2 and NCData are typical for these files.
